How do I find out what vaccinations my Pet has? Your Veterinarian should have given you some kind of receipt and/or certificate showing what vaccinations were administered, the date they were administered as well as the date they expire. Call your Veterinarian for a copy of this paperwork if you cannot find it.
What if my Pet does not have all vaccinations required? You will need to have your Pets vaccines administered at least 2 weeks prior to arriving at our Kennel. Proof of your Pet's vaccinations will need to be presented upon check-in. We will not allow your Pet to stay at our Kennel without proof that all vaccinations are current. A rabies tag IS NOT proof. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you arrive at our Kennel without this information, you will be turned away, regardless of your situation.
What if I arrive before or after your posted hours for check-in and out? Our posted hours for check-in and out are Winter: 7am-10am, Mon. - Sat. Summer: 7am-8:30am, Mon. - Sat. We are closed to bringing dogs in or picking them up on Sundays and All Major Holidays. You'll note that these hours provide for a period of quiet relaxation for our guests during the day and prior to evening meals. Inadequate "down time" can cause a myriad of health problems in dogs - nervousness, destructive behavior, poor appetite, excessive shedding, etc. Our rest periods are a crucial part of maintaining a stress-free atmosphere. Since we are a 6-day a week operation, it also allows US to have some down time as well. Therefore requests for special check-in or out times will be denied.
Do I bring my Pets food? YES, you may, but unless your dog is on a special veterinarian prescribed diet, we prefer to feed our top quality dry food while staying at our Kennel.
How many times will my Pet get to go outside? During warm weather, your pet is able to go in and out as often as he likes. During the winter, he will be let out 5 to 6 times daily for 10-15 minute intervals. Probably more than he is let out at home.
Can I bring his bedding, toys, dishes, etc.? Bedding, YES, but please machine wash using laundry detergent & some Clorox bleach before bringing it to the kennel. Toys, YES, but we will not be responsible for the health of the dog if he eats the toy. If the dog takes his toy into the outside pen, there is a chance of the dog in the next run getting your dog's toy. Please be aware of this situation happening. Treats, YES, but we will not be responsible for the health of the dog if you bring rawhide treats. Dishes, NO! We use quality stainless steel bowls which are easier to wash and disinfect daily.
Is your kennel heated during the Winter? YES. We have found the dogs are most comfortable when kennel temperature is between 60°F and 65°F. Any warmer and they are panting. If you feel your dog needs it warmer, please provide a dog sweater or extra bedding.
Does my dog sleep indoors directly on cement flooring? Absolutely NOT! The inside pens have a thick, solid, rubber matting for your dog to lie on, which is cleaned and disinfected daily.
